The College of Natural Sciences Master Teacher Initiative (MTI) is part of a CSU-wide program with the state purpose to:

  • underscore the importance of quality teaching within the context of the University’s overall mission
  • provide opportunities for faculty from across a college to address common teaching interests and concerns
  • contribute to the creation of a culture where the scholarship of teaching is valued and appreciated

Dr. Frank Vattano, Professor of Psychology and University Distinguished Teaching Scholar (retired), created the Best Practices in Teaching lunches in fall 2006. This was combined with activities developed by Dr. Doug Hoffman in the College of Business to form the TILT MTI. You can find more details and a collection of Teaching Tips from other CSU colleges on the TILT MTI webpage.
