Ingersoll Residential College
Natural Sciences was the first college at Colorado State University
to institute a residential college. For well over a decade, the Ingersoll
Residential College (IRC) has provided thousands of natural sciences majors
with the opportunity to live with other students who share a common interest in science. The Ingersoll Residential College houses ~300 men and women and is located on campus in Ingersoll Hall. Living in a residential college provides a positive and diverse learning environment for science students and offers several advantages when compared to other residential halls.
- Living with people who are taking the same classes as you makes it easier to do homework assignments and form study groups.
- IRC Resident Assistants are science majors themselves. They can answer your questions and help you with problems.
- Ingersoll is the home of the CNS Science and Mathematics Tutorial Hall, a study hall with a lively atmosphere and free assistance for science courses. Students make over 2,500 visits to the study hall each semester.
- IRC Director Dr. Jack McGrew and other faculty members often eat in the cafeteria with IRC students, allowing residents additional accessibility to faculty.
- Ingersoll has its own computer lab with PCs and Macintosh computers, laser printers, and a variety of software.
- Ingersoll also includes a video lab with digital movie cameras and professional editing software on Macintosh computers.
- Every room in Ingersoll has two high-speed Internet connections. You can surf the Web and keep in touch with your family and friends by e-mail-and it's free!
