This exhibition showcases the creative energies of students, faculty, and staff at Colorado State University and exemplifies the common ties between scientific inquiry and artistic practice. This includes artists who use aspects of science for their artistic inspiration or utilize fundamental principals of science in the creation of their art. It also includes scientists who utilize or generate art in the creation of scientific models and imagery used to illustrate their concepts, theories, and discoveries. This exhibition acknowledges and celebrates the wide range of creative output found in the juxtaposition of these distinct yet undeniably related disciplines.

Each individual is allowed up to three entries. All entrants will remain anonymous to the jurors throughout the jurying process. Upon acceptance into the exhibition, information from the Online Registration Form will be used to label the work.

Eligibility

The exhibition is open to all CSU students, faculty, and staff. Works submitted should address the theme of the exhibition in a unique and creative manner. All artwork must be original to the artist, and ready to hang or install at the time of jurying.Please review the Ready to Hang Guidelines.

Timeline

Wednesday, March 5th Registration deadline. You MUST register on-line before you can submit artwork (the online registration form is available here).

Saturday, March 8 - ALL entries with SUBMISSION FORMS attached must be dropped off at the Curfman Gallery on March 8th between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (Submission Form at the bottom of this page.) Judging will take place between noon and 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 9th - Notification emails will be sent to all entrants before noon. If your work is not accepted, you must pick it up from the Curfman Gallery between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m on Sunday, March 9th.

Wednesday, March 12th Exhibition opens at 4 pm. Opening Reception in the Art Lounge (next to Curfman Gallery), 4 - 6 p.m.

Friday, March 28th Exhibition closes at 5:00 p.m. Work available for pick-up between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Saturday, March 29th Work available for pick-up between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. All work must be removed from the Curfman Gallery by 11:00 a.m.

Notes

If your piece is to be included in a research paper for publication, please consult with your publisher before entering the piece in the show. In rare cases, an exhibition can render your work ineligible for publication.
